If you have any items you'd like to pass on (baby/pregnancy or totally random!), feel free to bring it with you. If there's something you can use, take it. Cornelia Mazzan will be sharing Doula tips to help you get through labor Cornelia Mazzan is Creative Director of Fearless Parent™, co-host of Fearless Parent Radio, and mom of one. She is trained as a birth doula, a certified yoga instructor, a Reiki / energy work practitioner, and an aspiring midwife. Cornelia is co-leader of NJ BirthNetwork and the past President of Real Mama, Inc. She has a degree in Fine Arts and is a web and print Visual Designer with nearly 20 years of experience.

Sibling Harmony, 10/15/14

There are many challenges to parenting, but siblings who don't get along can be one of the toughest! Whether it's toddlers who don't want to share or older kids getting into physical arguments, it can become stressful (and even damaging) for the children and parents. We'll be discussing techniques and strategies that can help you get them off to a good start or diffuse mounting tensions in their relationship now. Birth Art, Sept. 17, 2014

Birth Collages! Your beliefs can deeply impact your experience of birth. If preparing for your first birth, addressing any fears or concerns can smooth the path to an easier labor. If you had a challenging birth, this is a great way to help heal any wounds so you don't bring unnecessary baggage into your next birth. A joyous birth also can be celebrated and remembered. We'll be doing collages--they don't require a high degree of artistic skill and can easily be paused if little ones need attention. We provide all needed materials. Autism Prevention & Treatment with Dr. Lane 2/20 As always, our meetings are free. This topic is relevant for all parents, grandparents and care providers. We welcome and encourage dads, partners, and care givers to come. Sarah Lane OD, RYT, HBCE is the founder and owner of the FOCUS Center for Vision and Learning in Lakewood, NJ and of Natural Beginnings NJ: a resource center for growing families in Spring Lake, NJ. At the FOCUS Center Dr. Lane provides Developmental Optometric consultations and vision therapy. At Natural Beginnings NJ Dr. Lane teaches HypnoBirthing® Childbirth education classes, yoga, and a class she created called, Meaningful Moves. The Meaningful Moves class is designed for babies ages 6 weeks to 18 months, and works with introducing families to movement and sensory activities that can help encourage optimal development. Dr. Lane is a co-creator of “Having Healthy Babies”, an initiative aimed at prevention of developmental disorders, sponsored by Developmental Delay Resources. Dr. Lane has 2 sons, Joshua and Aaron, both born at home and lives in Manasquan with her husband David and step daughters, Amelia and Elsie. Diapering with a twist....meeting 6/18/14

What if you could reduce or eliminate your need for diapers? Kim Metcalfe raised her daughter Diaper Free and will be sharing the tricks of Elimination Communication. By reading your baby's cues, you can anticipate their need to pee....It may sound unreal, but you can literally use this to at least reduce your dependence on diapers. No matter how you diapered (disposable, cloth, etc.), please come share your experiences. There will also be plenty of time to talk about whatever else is on your mind. (Kim is also a Certified Massage Therapist and Herbalist. Beth will also be there, if you have breastfeeding, postpartum or baby care questions.)
